Hold Fire. Where Safety Meets Innovation

The Challenge

Cuts to fire services, reduced crew numbers and longer response times,  particularly in rural area,  means that fires often spread before a full response can arrive. Entering a burning building also poses serious risks for firefighters, from backdrafts to structural instability.

The critical question: how do we take faster, safer action in those first minutes of a fire?

The Solution. Hold Fire

Hold Fire bridges the gap. This patent-pending device is installed in strategic locations following a professional risk assessment. In the event of a fire, trained staff or fire crews can use adapted extinguishers to make a safe, rapid initial attack from outside the building.

By acting earlier, fires can be contained before they spread, reducing risks for people, property, and firefighters.

How It Works

1. Measure the internal temperature using the built-in sensor and display.

2. Break the unit’s seal if a fire is detected.

3. Insert the extinguishing device through the 'Hold Fire' unit.

4. Discharge the firefighting media directly into the fire compartment, safely, from outside.

Hold Fire and the Fog Spike

The Fog Spike, developed by Delta Fire, is already recognised by brigades such as the London Fire Brigade and Kent Fire Brigade. It’s a piercing lance that allows crews to deliver water mist into a compartment through an external wall or roof, reducing heat and slowing the fire’s spread.

Hold Fire complements and enhances this technology.

Fog Spike Alone

  • Reactive: deployed once crews arrive on scene.
  • Requires firefighter action: piercing into structure during an incident.
  • Primarily crew-focused: not designed for trained staff on-site.

Hold Fire with Fog Spike

  • Proactive: pre-installed in the building’s highest-risk locations.
  • Ready before the fire starts: no need to breach the structure under pressure.
  • Staff + crews: trained staff can act immediately, giving fire crews a head start.
  • Safer entry: crews benefit from a pre-positioned attack point, reducing risk of backdraft and flashover.
  • Business continuity: quicker containment means less damage, faster recovery, and potential insurance benefits.

Benefits for Businesses

  • Faster, safer fire response reduces disruption and damage.
  • Units installed in high-risk locations for maximum protection.
  • Trained staff can take immediate action before fire crews arrive.
  • Lower risk means quicker return to business and potential insurance savings.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to staff safety and wellbeing.

Benefits for Firefighters

  • Enables rapid firefighting action before full crews arrive.
  • Reduces the need for immediate building entry.
  • Provides a pre-installed point of attack, enhancing Fog Spike deployment.
  • Helps protect against backdrafts and flashovers.
  • Designed by firefighters, with firefighter safety in mind.

Credibility & Innovation

Hold Fire is patent-pending and built from the ground up with input from frontline fire professionals. It represents a step-change in how we approach fire safety, proactive, practical, and protective.

Saving lives. Reducing risk. Redefining fire safety.
